Day Trip: Kansas City, Union Station and Pompeii

At the end of February, 2017, I ventured out to create my first YouTube video. I love watching travel vlogs and even helped my sister get started on YouTube (check out her channel, Hancock's Homestead and Gardens ), but I'd not really done anything in it myself, except to share some videos of me lecturing for a online course. I decided to start this effort by recording my trip to Union Station in Kansas City to see the Pompeii exhibit. The exhibit and the experience of creating my first video was so much fun. I plan to continue doing more as time and opportunity allow. I still work full time, but I do get to venture out in the summer when I'm not teaching. My plans for this summer already include a trip to Germany and one to Wisconsin. I'm also planning some shorter day and weekend trips including one to a psychiatric museum in St. Joseph, Mo. in addition, I've created one, and plan more, Throw Back Thursday videos of past vacations I've taken. My goal with the blog isn't to duplicate the videos, however. It will be more a place to provide links to places, restaurants and other resources I discuss in my videos. Hopefully, the two together will be beneficial to fellow travelers. Here are some places mentioned in my first blog: Union Station The National World War I Museum The Money Museum Pierponts in Union Station restaurant GrĂ¼nauer restaurant
